Team Alberta and Team Quebec emerged as early tournament favourites, recording three victories each and securing top spots in their respective pools, on the first day of the 2018 Junior National Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Longueuil, Quebec.?
The top four teams heading into quarterfinals tomorrow are Quebec, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. New Brunswick and British Columbia are in the middle of the pack with one win apiece while teams Nova Scotia and Manitoba are still in search of their first wins.?
The three-day tournament is co-hosted by Wheelchair Basketball Canada and Parasports Québec and features the?best junior wheelchair basketball athletes in Canada.?This event acts as the seeding tournament for the 2019 Canada Games in Red Deer, Alta.
