(Toronto, Ont.) – Wheelchair Basketball Canada is now accepting applications for press accreditation from members of the media for the 2017 Men’s U23 World Wheelchair Basketball Championship from June 8-16, 2017 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in downtown Toronto.
World-class athletes representing 12 nations, including host Canada, will converge at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in downtown Toronto to showcase the elite skill and athleticism that make wheelchair basketball a thrilling spectator sport and one of the most popular sports for athletes with a disability in the world. The 2017 Men’s U23 World Championship marks the 20-year anniversary since Canada hosted the inaugural world championship for junior men in 1997 in Toronto. Team Canada won back-to-back gold medals at the world championship for junior men in 1997 and 2001 and most recently placed sixth in 2013.
Media seeking accreditation are invited to fill out the press accreditation form available on the official event website www.2017u23wwbc.com by Friday, May 19, 2017. ?Accreditation is reserved for members of the press i.e. journalists, print media, photographers, radio, TV and news agencies. Those seeking accreditation must be employed or contracted by a media organization. ?Accreditation will grant media access designated media areas, including the mixed zone and a media work room.
